Act happy and you will be happy

Sometimes you’re not feeling great and aren’t happy. To feel better all you have to do is put on a smile and your mood will be a lot better – believe me its very hard to be grumpy when you have a big grin on your face. Also i notice that when I’m happy my friends joke about a lot more but when I’m a bit sad or am not smiling they aren’t as jokey. It’s always a lot better when everyone is :).

I’m not saying that you just have to act and not display your emotions or keep them all locked up inside. I’m just saying that when you smile you will feel better and everyone else around you will feel happier too. Think of it as if someone yawns then that makes the next person yawn. Thats exactly the same just with smiles.

So next time you feel down I dare you to smile and see how much that cheers you up and then email me at wintheworrywars@gmail.com and tell me how much better that made you feel on a scale of one to ten one being didnt make me feel better to ten being it made you do from sad to super happy.

Thanks for reading and i hope that made you feel better. Lets see how many of you can email me doing the dare.

Thanks

Look after yourself!

A balanced diet and enough sleep is vital to performing your best and that is super important when it comes to anxiety.

Sleep

Make sure you get at least 8-10 hours a night, it may seem a lot but when you get into the routine you will feel so much better. Quality of sleep is also important make sure you’re in a dark room, at the right temperature and is also free from noisy distractions. I must say at the peak of summer it can be difficult to sleep but why not invest in some black-out blinds or some dark coloured curtains.

Diet

There is a lot of scientific evidence to support that what you eat can affect your mood. Here is a website with some helpful informationhttp://www.anxietynomore.co.uk/food_and_anxiety.html. I must say that although i agree with most of the things on the list don’t completely avoid the things that they say are bad because that will lead you to an unbalanced diet. You want to eat everything in a good proportion. A few things to definitely stay away from are energy drinks and coffee. If you like coffee then try decaf or something with less caffeine. Also bananas can make a huge difference to to your mood and help you start the day on a positive note.

Exercise

Now I’m definitely not the one to be telling you to do loads of exercise but I do believe that its important and once you get going you can actually feel better for it. I do the two hours a week of pe and at least and hour of cycling at the weekends. I think as long as you like the sport and you do a little bit of it every week then you don’t need to do five or six hours a day. Just do it in  moderation like the diet.

Thanks for reading. I hope this helped please share and help stop the world worrying 🙂

Dealing with a panic attack-low self-esteem

First of all I have to start with an apology that I didn’t post on sunday but from now on I will try my hardest to keep it regular.I have another sheet for you today and as you may have guessed by the title it is about low self-esteem.

So what are your thoughts?

You may feel negative and self-critical. Like your stupid or not good enough.

Your emotions maybe angry, anxious, guilt or even shame.

You need to think differently.

So if your listening to the self critical voice in your head think is it fact or opinion. https://wintheworrywars.wordpress.com/2014/05/25/dealing-with-a-panic-attack-fact-or-opinion/

You need to focus on the positive.

Dont compare and despair that’s when you look at the good in others and then criticize yourself.

What’s the bigger  picture? How would someone else see this? What would I think about someone else in this situation?

Doing things differently.

Act the person you want to be

Stand, walk and talk confidently.

Look after yourself and eat healthy

Reward yourself once in a while or after achieving a goal

Acknowledge your strengths

Thank others and show your appreciation

Help others

I hope todays blog post was useful to you and that you liked it please remember to share on social media. You make me so happy that you read my blog. Lets help stop the world worrying 🙂

One thing I have learnt

Normally every other Wednesday I will find some cool videos for you guys to watch but this week I thought I’d do something different. Even though I’m not over this yet, the one thing I have learnt is that on the outside someone may act happy but notice I used the words act. I think I was like this I really don’t like people making a fuss so especially around my friends I would act happy but underneath I felt horrible. I know this may sound cheesy but don’t judge a book by its cover. If someone seems a bit less happy than normal try to figure out why that is you never know they may be in the same position as you!

Thanks for reading guys u hope you enjoyed don’t forget to like comment and follow me and also go check out the rest of the site-I dare you!

Dealing with a panic attack. stopp

My Councillor has given me a sheet and I am going to share it with you I will also attach the stopp card and the sheet so you can print out the info so you can take it with you where ever you want to go.

THE SHEET THE SHEET

THOUGHTS:

  • Something bad will happen
  • I won’t be able to cope

BODY REACTION:

Adrenaline response-Body’s alarm system-Energized for fight or flight. Blood is diverted to the big muscles to help us escape or fight the threat, and blood is therefore taken away from the other body systems.

You may notice:

  • Heart rate increases
  • Breathing speeds up, breathless, choking feeling
  • Muscles tense, aching, shaking
  • Hot, sweating
  • light-headed, blurred vision
  • Butterflies in tummy, urge to go to the bathroom
  • More alert-scanning for danger

THINKING DIFFERENTLY

  • Is this threat a real one or is it really bound to happen?
  • Am I exaggerating the threat? Am I misreading things?
  • I feel bad, but that doesn’t mean that things are really that bad.
  • What would someone else say about this?
  • What would I say to a friend in this situation?
  • What would be a more helpful way of looking at things?
  • Where’s my focus of attention?
  • I can cope with these feelings, I’ve got through it before. This will pass.

DOING DIFFERENTLY

  • Take a breath
  • How will doing this affect me in the long-term?
  • Don’t avoid situations-go anyway
  • Problem solve or make plans if necessary
  • Take things slowly or gradually
  • Focus attention outside of me-external rather than internal focus
  • What’s the best thing to do?
  • What would help most?

IMAGINE

Imagine yourself coping in a situation that you feel anxious about. See the situation through to a successful completion.

Visualize blue for calm. Breath in blue and breath out red.

THE STOPP CARD     THE STOPP CARD

STOPP

TAKE A BREATH

OBSERVE: What am I thinking? What am I reacting to? What am I feeling in my body?

PULL BACK: Put in some perspective. See the bigger picture. Is this fact or opinion? How would someone else see this?

PRACTICE WHAT WORKS:

What’s the best thing to do for me, for others, for this situation?

I hope this helped please download and print off the attachments and vote. Please share this and help the world stop worrying.

Thanks

Start a business

This post is to just get your mind off the panic. I have always loved the buzz of earning money from a young age and around the ages of 9 and 10 I was really exited about the idea of having a business when i was older. Now later in life I still like the idea but not as much as I used to.

If you have that same buzz as me then why not start-up a business. It can be as simple and as difficult as you want to. I have a mini business selling things I’ve bought cheap and selling them for a bit of a profit on Amazon. It’s really easy you just buy the stuff, set up an account on amazon you could also use Ebay if you prefer wait for someone to buy it and then ship it and you’ve started up a business. You could make a professional one but I don’t know much about it so I won’t tell you any thing encase I’m wrong.

I hope this helped a bit and got you something to plan to help you keep your mind off the panic. Please share and do all the usual stuff and take part in the poll because all your feedback makes me happy that I can then make you happy 🙂

What is a panic attack?

This post is literally to explain what a panic attack is. This post is another in the series.

A panic attack is an experience of sudden and intense anxiety. Panic attacks can have physical symptoms, including shaking, feeling confused or disoriented, rapid heartbeats, dry mouth, sweating, dizziness and chest pain. Other symptoms from my experience can include choking like your throat is closing up.

The symptoms of a panic attack normally peak within 10 minutes. Most episodes (attacks) will last for between five minutes and half an hour.

Phobia sufferers will try to avoid whatever is causing their fear, but in some cases this can seriously restrict their movements and actions. It’s important not to let your fear of panic attacks control you, you need to control it.Panic attacks always pass and the symptoms are not a sign of anything harmful happening. It’s important not to restrict your movements and daily activities.

During an attack you experience a whole range of frightening symptoms, and worrying thoughts may go through your mind. Many people have a sense of impending disaster, and think they’re going to faint, lose control or even die.

You may hear the words panic disorder that is exactly the same as a panic attack except that you get them quite often. Some people will get the occasional panic attack and they are completely normal and nothing will happen in the end.

What is a panic attack? My Fears and Worries.

This is the first in hopefully a sort of series and I will start off with my personal fears and worries, as this website wouldn’t exist if they hadn’t of happened.

My personal fear was health ,after being in a worrying situation and being the only one in the room at the time, luckily I went to get someone straight away and that person was fine in the end but the memory is still in my mind.

I was very , and still have the fears but they are going now, scared of the whole health aspect of life. It started off with ‘chest pains’ which weren’t they were just a panic symptom, but I was scared I was going to have a heart attack and the media doesn’t help with constant stories about it almost everyday. I went to see my GP and she explained to me that I’d have to be at least 30 to be the youngest person ever to have one. After that I haven’t really had the ‘chest pains’ since then. I’m still a little on edge about it but not so much about the pains.

Second of all, was my fear of not being able to breathe. I was nervous about that for a while but not really bad t would come and go. Now its just a really small thought in the back of my mind that only really pops up in burst occasionally.

Third was probably my fear of having a bad allergic reaction. I have never had a reaction but just the ‘what if?’ scared me. I’m still a bit scared and am getting better but I find eating food from restaurants and anywhere where someone who I know hasn’t prepared the food scares me.

I think that my fourth panic was ‘what if I choke?’. Admittedly this is probably the one I’m still most scared about. Like all of them I’m getting better and am conquering them slowly.

I don’t think all of them are going to completely go away but they won’t ever be a significant as they were when the first started cropping up. I will update you if I remember any more and will tell you if get any more. Don’t forget to email me at wintheworrywars@gmail.com leave a comment in the section below.
